How I help . . .

I first knew I wanted to be an accountant after taking accounting classes in high school. At Adams Brown, I help our clients save money on taxes through entity structuring and retirement planning.  I love what I do because it’s challenging and fast-paced. There is never a dull moment here because one day is never the same as the next!

One of my strengths is knowing what team members to pull into a situation. Nobody is an expert on everything, and knowing what the right expertise my team needs is a real asset. Above all, I love working with my clients and I approach each of them as if they are my primary focus. Each client is unique, and I enjoy helping them with a variety of issues.

Q&A with Nicole

What does above + beyond mean to you?
It means not just stopping at an answer but fully exploring other opportunities and vetting out a situation. Being there when your clients need you the most and being someone the client can trust.
What are some of your favorite things?
I like Mexican food, and Mi Tierra is my favorite local restaurant. For music, I like to listen to country. When I read, I like prayer and motivational books. I’m also good at playing volleyball.
What does your typical day look like?
I get up, get ready, get the kids ready, race out the door, drop off at daycare, drop off at school, drive to work and make my mental to-do list in my head, get to work and re-work to-do list as my day never goes as planned, which I love! Again, fast pace and challenging.
What is/was your biggest life challenge?
Being a parent — I want to raise respectful and thoughtful kids, so every day is a challenge.
What is your family like and what are some things you like to do together?
My husband teaches and coaches high school football, so the girls and I enjoy going to games to cheer him on. We go hunting together (deer and bird mostly), attend sporting events, enjoy going for drives in the country, play games together and have family movie nights!

Life Outside the Office

Hobbies & Interests

  • Playing rec volleyball
  • Going on walks
  • Watching my kids learn and grow
  • Going to my husband’s small town Friday night football games
  • Online browsing—I put lots of things in my cart then talk myself out of purchasing them

Little Known Facts

  • I grew up on a farm.
  • When my brothers were seniors in high school, they went on their senior trip in June, which fell during harvest, so I got upgraded from kitchen help to driving the tractor and grain cart! They never fired me, so I must’ve done an OK job! I did this for about 10 years until getting married and having our first child, so now my husband is the grain cart driver and back to kitchen help I go!
