How I help . . .

I became an accountant years ago because the analytical work interested me; at the time it seemed to me that it was very black and white and there was always one right answer. I am still an accountant all these years later because the very opposite is true. Every client has a different set of circumstances, skills, gifts, problems, and pain points, and deserves a professional who listens to them and takes a unique approach to their situation.

My passion is finding creative approaches to assist farmers and small business owners grow their operations and transition their business to the next generation. I believe that the work ethic and lifestyle embodied by rural America is truly worth preserving.

Q&A with Jennifer

What does above + beyond mean to you?
Looking beyond cookie cutter solutions to craft a service that’s unique to each client’s needs. Going beyond simple compliance to work alongside my clients and looking at their overall financial health.
What activity plays an important part in your life?
Family, K-State football, babysitting my darling granddaughters and spending time with friends.
What are your some of your favorite things?
I like to try new restaurants. South American and Indian cuisine are some of my current favorites. I like Red Dirt country music, and a good historical fiction book is hard to beat.
What type of sports are you good at?
I stink at sports. But I really enjoy playing golf (poorly) and am lucky enough to live steps away from a world-class course.
What are you most proud of and why?
All of my children have grown to become adults who love the Lord with all their hearts. I see the evidence of their relationship with Jesus manifested in their actions towards others and their life choices.

Little Known Facts

  • I was born in New Jersey while my dad was in the Army during Vietnam. He was discharged when I was three weeks old, so my parents drove back to our farm in Kansas with me in a wooden box held down by a bungee strap between them in the front seat of the car. Other than those three weeks, I am a life-long Kansan.
  • I’m a third-generation K-State grad, and our kids are all fourth generation.
  • Growing up, I was the grain cart driver for our family farm, and I would go to the library before harvest and get at least 10 books to take with me on the tractor during harvest.
