How Adams Brown’s Flexible Culture Helps Kim Thrive on the Farm and in the Office

Kim Roberts knows a thing or two about navigating mazes—both in the office and on her farm. As a CAS Accounting Specialist at Adams Brown, Kim manages her professional responsibilities while also running a corn maze and pumpkin patch in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Growing More than Corn

Kim and her husband started their corn maze and pumpkin patch as a way to share their love of farming with the community. But it’s the children’s reactions during school field trips that make it truly special.

“I love seeing kids’ faces light up when they realize where eggs come from, or when they cut a pumpkin from the vine for the first time. Watching their amazement at how tall corn can grow or how much a cow can grow in a year is priceless.”

For her, the farm is more than just a business—it’s a way to inspire the next generation.

A Flexible Approach

Balancing her farm duties with her work at Adams Brown requires a bit of creativity, but Kim credits the firm’s flexible work environment for making it possible.

“During the busy corn maze season in September, October and November, I’m able to adjust my schedule. I work remotely, and if I ever need help or extra time, I know there’s always someone at the firm ready to assist.”

That flexibility allows Kim to prioritize her clients while successfully managing a thriving farm. Some of her clients have even visited the corn maze, often filled with curiosity about how it all works—from the intricate process of cutting the maze to the number of visitors they welcome each season. And for those who ask, she shares that on Saturday nights in October, the cornfield transforms into a spooky haunted attraction, adding another layer of excitement to the farm experience.

Support from Day One

Kim’s journey with Adams Brown started 14 years ago, and from the very beginning, the firm has supported both her professional and personal growth.

“The firm truly values who you are as a person, not just as an employee. Whether it’s giving me time off to help my kids with their 4-H projects or adjusting my schedule during corn maze season, they always have my back.”

For Kim, working at Adams Brown means she can succeed both professionally and personally—whether she’s in front of her computer or cutting pumpkins in a field.

“Having that balance has made all the difference. I can give my all to my clients while still being present for the things I love on the farm.”

For Kim, life at Adams Brown is about more than just numbers—it’s about cultivating a fulfilling career and a fulfilling life, all with the support of a firm that truly cares.
