From Kansas to Korea: How Adams Brown Makes Remote Work Across the Globe a Reality
Finding Success While Living Overseas
For Candice Brown, the journey from Kansas to South Korea wasn’t just a move—it was a complete transformation of her family’s life. As a military spouse and dedicated IT professional, Candice has found a unique balance between career and family.
“My husband enlisted in the armed forces last year, at nearly 40, which brought big changes to our family,” Candice shares. “After he completed his training, we received orders to be stationed in South Korea. It was a major transition, but Adams Brown made it possible for me to continue my career while supporting my family through this new chapter.”
Working Across Time Zones
Living in South Korea, Candice navigates a 14-hour time difference from Adams Brown’s Kansas and Arkansas offices. Her workdays often start when others are wrapping up, and she’s no stranger to the occasional mix-up of “good morning” and “good evening” during calls.
“Most people are surprised when they learn where I’m working from. The time difference becomes a talking point, and it’s a fun way to connect with colleagues.”
Adams Brown’s support extends above+beyond the technical aspects of remote work. For Candice, the firm’s culture of understanding and adaptability has been a lifeline.
“Being a military spouse comes with unique challenges, from moving to adjusting to new cultures. Adams Brown has been with me every step of the way, offering work-from-home flexibility and understanding when family responsibilities arise.”
This support has allowed Candice to stay present for her family while continuing to grow professionally. “I don’t have to choose between being a mom, a military spouse or a career-driven professional,” she says. “Adams Brown makes it possible to do it all.”
Despite living halfway around the world, Candice has continued to achieve professional milestones. Earning her Cisco Meraki Certification was a big accomplishment that required months of training and studying.
“The firm ensured I had the training and resources I needed, even from South Korea.”
Her certification also adds value to her role at Adams Brown. “The training allowed me to deepen my knowledge and better support our team with new technology. It feels good to contribute at a higher level, no matter where I’m located.”
Looking Ahead
While living in South Korea, Candice has enjoyed exploring the local culture and traveling to visit her daughters in Omaha and California. Her bucket list includes continuing to discover new places and building more memories with her family.
Candice’s story is a testament to how Adams Brown supports its employees, no matter where in the world life takes them. With a career that spans continents, she’s an example of what it means to thrive in a flexible, empowering work environment.
